If Only January 6th Had Been a Real Insurrection ~ Maybe Next Time
Justin O. Smith

Are we still living in America?

The anniversary of the January 6th 2021 riot at the U.S. Capitol Building has come and gone, but the memory of that infamous day that culminated in the murder of Ashli Babbitt, an Air Force Veteran, remains indelibly burned in my mind as it continues to weigh on my heart and made me look anew at the country of my birth. This is the day one might say that America truly died, even as the repercussions and shockwaves from that day continue to echo across America, a nation still under assault from the country’s Democratic Party Communists and the Biden regime.

The incessant assertion from the Far Left of America that the events of this ignoble day were an “insurrection” compels me to write today, even as I did just days after the riot, “This was not an insurrection in any way, shape or form, despite any contention to the contrary”. And as we recall the magnitude of what started as a genuine and justified protest over a Presidential Election scandalized by well-documented and verifiable large scale election fraud, this day should never be forgotten, for the profound sense of injustice that happened then and many days forward, even this very moment as we now witness scores of false narratives about Trump’s actions or inaction on that day being presented in a torrent of court actions and news releases — just one more Democratic Party Communist attempt to interfere with the 2024 election.

The American patriots, who showed up to protest the results of the 2020 election and eventually found themselves in the middle of a violent riot, were simply fearful that their country was being run over in roughshod manner by radical Democrat communists and their RINO allies, such as Liz Cheney, Mike Pence and Mitch McConnell. For every Trump flag or Trump and MAGA hat one saw there was someone who rightfully believed we were in the midst of a soft coup that took place in November. But these weren’t radical domestic terrorists as asserted since by the Biden regime; they were the core and the heart of what still drives this country.

It is an indisputable fact that, in 2020, the mail-in drop boxes seen in Georgia, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Michigan and the arbitrary extension of the vote counting for weeks by the respective Secretary of States were gross violations of their respective state’s constitution, setting in motion the largest level of election fraud ever witnessed in our country. In past years, mail-in voting represented 30 percent of the vote with two to three percent typically rejected for cause, but in 2021, it became 70 percent of the vote with less than a percentage point being rejected overall.

To translate, it means that suddenly the system became six times more accurate while doubling the number of mail-in ballots, a statistical anomaly that is virtually an impossibility, since no system ever becomes more efficient with added complexity; and the Biden regime and its supporters didn’t even really try to hide their treasonous deeds.

In a recent interview, Representative Elise Stefanik (R-NY) stated:

“What we saw in 2020 was unconstitutional circumventing of the Constitution — not going through state legislatures when it comes to changing election law. And we’re seeing this in my home state of New York …. We are seeing Democrats try to steal the election and illegally gerrymander congressional districts that we fairly won and are fair line. So I see this at a very local level, as well as the unconstitutional overreach at the national level in 2020.”

The FBI refused to call the events of this day “an insurrection”, in their report in August of 2021, because they found that there wasn’t any large-scale plot centrally organized for the purpose of storming the Capitol, taking hostages and/ or overthrowing the U.S. government. Although the majority of people were there to express their concern over what they viewed as a Marxist-Maoist Leftist coup, what began as peaceful protests and ended in a riot did not arise to the level of an “insurrection”.

It’s impossible to overthrow any government without using firearms, and the crowds that day were largely and on the whole unarmed for all intents and purposes. Yes, there were a very slight few, some seventy-five who have since pled guilty of carrying some type of weapon, including thirteen who were carrying firearms — this out of a crowd of hundreds of thousands. How could this have been an insurrection when the American patriots came unarmed? That it devolved into a riot is another matter altogether.

And everyone must recall that Speaker Nancy Pelosi was outed after the fact for having rejected an extra police presence for January 6th and also refusing President Trump’s offer to activate a contingent of National Guardsmen to act as added security for the events of the day.

For my part, I received many invitations to go to D.C. and join with some of my friends who made the journey, but I begged off stating my concerns even then that this was ripe for catastrophe or the set up that followed. I had heard the many warnings to come unarmed and ready to “peacefully protest”, and although I would have remained “peaceful” so long as the authorities did also, I wasn’t about to show up at the Capitol on that day, given the circumstances, without my Glock .40 and at least two extra magazines.

Many on the Far Left have stated that then-President Trump incited the riot that day, but the thousands who moved towards the Capitol Building only went there to gain entrance to the building and witness the count of the Electoral College votes and lodge their complaints with their representatives and Vice-President Mike Pence who had an extremely flawed understanding of his authority on that day. The people had the absolute right to enter and address their so-called “leaders” just as many other times in U.S. history that the American people have been present in the chambers to witness historical events, and so those at the front of the crowd pushed over the first flimsy barricades they encountered and slowly made the first line of police officers retreat to the Capitol steps. Most of the crowd had no idea they weren’t supposed to be there.

The massive flow of tens of thousands of people moved forward gaining a momentum all of its own, and they reached the Capitol steps where another police line successfully made them stop. One of the first minor interactions between the D.C. Metro Police and the crowd occurred at 12:53, well before President Trump halted his speech at 1:13. And Congress officially evacuated at 1:26 P.M.

Some twenty minutes pass as the crowd settles a bit. They’re shoulder to shoulder by this point, jammed together like sardines, finally breaking into chants of “stop the steal” and “we want Trump” and going on to sing the Star-Spangled Banner. They almost seemed content just to have made their point by getting within earshot of the Capitol Building.

But just as quickly, the ramparts above the crowd soon filled with U.S. Capitol Police and D.C. Metro officers. One friend described how an unprovoked attack was carried out by these law enforcement personnel without any kind of verbal warning first being issued, as they fired down into the crowd, seemingly aiming for faces in order to do the greatest damage. Several protestors had their faces ripped open by rubber bullets fired within 50 feet of them, with at least one losing his eye. Tear gas and who knows what kind of chemical weapons were fired into a crowd of unarmed Veterans, grandfathers, grandmothers and women and children, and these Federal Jackbooted Thugs wantonly unleashed a barrage of supposedly “non-lethal” rounds on an unsuspecting crowd. Democrats would call this a “war crime” if it had been done against a group of Afghans, but if the Feds do this to a crowd of MAGA Trump supporters and American citizens, it’s all good and no foul, no matter the harm.

Just minutes into the melee that followed, Kevin Greeson was hit in the chest by a flash-bang device that subsequently caused him to have a heart attack and be pronounced dead at 2:05 P.M. Benjamin Phillips would also die this day after also being hit in the chest with a flash-bang, which made him the second of the four protestors who died as a result of Capitol Police actions on January 6th 2021.

Several Veterans also told how the chemicals used that day weren’t what one would find in ordinary military grade tear gas, the kind we all experienced in the Army, when we went through in chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear or explosive [CBRNE] incident-response practices in a realistic environment, as we went through Army boot camp.

Many who were there would later recount how they spotted Ray Epps, allegedly an FBI informant, at several key points agitating the crowd, and although he didn’t realize it until weeks later, a friend of mine had actually captured him in several photos. Some of the best reporting on his involvement as a provocateur was done by Revolver News in an in-depth series on January 6th. But Epps was eventually charged and arrested and essentially let off with a slap on the wrist — wink, wink — as scores of January 6th protestors currently still sit in D.C.’s jail awaiting trial.

Within minutes of Ashli Babbitt being murdered by Capitol Police Officer, Lt Michael Byrd, at approximately 2:44 P.M., the word rippled through the crowd and incited many to react violently against the police, as a good portion of the crowd also chose to disperse and leave. Subsequently, the Capitol saw alternating situations between the hours of bloody hand-to-hand combat that ensued and those who quietly paraded through the Capitol as if to say “Look at me, Ma”.

It’s worth noting at this point that Judicial Watch’s Tom Fitton and his people have just filed a $30 million lawsuit against the U.S. Government. And some of the information already forthcoming is just damning as, in part, it states:

“Lt Byrd, who is a USCP commander and was the incident commander for the House on January 6, 2021, shot Ashli as she raised herself up into the opening of the right door sidelight … Not one member of Congress was in the lobby, which was guarded by multiple armed police officers. Additional armed police officers were in the hallway outside the lobby and/or on the adjoining stairway. Ashli could not have seen Lt Byrd, who was positioned far to Ashli’s left and on the opposite side of the doors, near an opening to the Retiring Room, a distance of approximately 15 feet and an angle of approximately 160 degrees. Sgt Timothy Lively, one of the armed officers guarding the lobby doors from the hallway, later told officials investigating the shooting, ‘I saw him … there was no way that woman would’ve seen that.’ Lt Byrd, who was not in uniform, did not identify himself as a police officer or otherwise make his presence known to Ashli. Lt Byrd did not give Ashli any warnings or commands before shooting her dead.”

The most damning allegation reveals Byrd gave a false report of shots being fired after he shot Ms Babbitt, and it reads:

“At 2:45 p.m., or within one minute after shooting Ashli, Lt Byrd made tha following radio call: ‘405B. We got shots fired in the lobby. We got shots fired in the lobby of the House chamber. Shots are being fired at us and we’re sh, uhh, prepared to fire back at them. We have guns drawn. Please don’t leave that end. Don’t leave that end.’ Approximately 35 seconds later, Lt Byrd made another radio call, stating, ‘405B. We got an injured person. I believe that person was shot.’ In fact, no shots were fired at Lt Byrd, [incompetent jackass his record proves him to be — my words], or his fellow officers. The only shot was the single shot Lt Byrd fired at Ashli. He heard the loud noise of the gunshot. He saw her fall backwards from the window frame.”

No one is going to pretend that there wasn’t a good deal of violence from the side of America’s patriots that day, but it was only after watching their families and fellow countrymen getting brutalized that they engaged law enforcement agents in hand-to-hand combat that day. There isn’t anyone I know — man or woman — who will sit by while old women get shot in the face with rubber bullets, without reacting however badly in her defense. It’s unreasonable to expect anyone to meekly allow themselves to be prodded, beaten, gassed and tased, and simply far removed from reality and one’s right to self-defense, even if it is against law enforcement and their malicious attacks without warning that were designed to provoke the violence we witnessed on January 6th 2021.

With the full weight of the DOJ’s infinite finances and resources mounted against them, a large number of January 6th protestors have seen fit to plead out their cases rather than be bankrupted trying to defend themselves against trumped up charges, ranging from misdemeanor trespass to assaulting police officers and worse. Some 730 J6ers have already pled guilty to charges, and another 170 have been convicted at trial, according to the Associated Press.

Three years later, the FBI is still locating and arresting people for the terrible crime of “obstructing a government proceeding” when all they did was take an innocent stroll through the Capitol Building, much like a curious sightseer. It’s troubling to see non-violent protestors held in pre-trial detention indefinitely in many cases and treated sorely by their jailers, and in some of the earliest cases, held for months without having been charged with a crime. And those who have already been convicted by suspect juries of Far Left Democrats in the D.C. can only be described as political prisoners who are held in solitary confinement for 23 hours a day, and by several accounts, beaten and sexually assaulted, denied food, medication and medical care.

Are we still living in America? If so, we are living a nightmare visited upon us all.

Once one reviews the cases of over 1200 Americans who were eventually arrested for one “crime” or another and basically simply walking through the capitol, one sees that only thirteen percent were affiliated with any militia group. Over fifty percent are doctors, lawyers, architects, business owners and CEOs. A quarter of their ranks were college grads, with two-thirds over the age of thirty-four, in sharp contrast to the average age of twenty-five for the Far Left rioters and arsonists of Antifa and BLM. This was not a bunch of domestic terrorists or right-wing nutcases; they weren’t society’s disaffected untouchables. The victims of the Biden regime’s malevolent, aggressive and politically motivated indictments are some of the best people America has to offer.

The only attack that occurred on January 6th wasn’t from Trump supporters or an unprovoked attack on “our sacred democracy” as depicted by Biden and millions of other dumbass Democrat commies, it was the attack that started with affirming Joe Biden as “president” — one that has been never-ending from day one of his regime. No Congressional turncoat, rat bastard traitor was in any danger, having long fled before the Capitol Building was ever breached by Capitol Police guided tours for the protestors who stayed within the bounds of the red velvet ropes. Even tho’ the building had been evacuated, journalists were seen everywhere inside key locations, such as Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s office, in order to acquire valuable propaganda. And there was a vast network of federal agents and informants in the mix, whose primary mission was to make sure that January 6th turned into the royal clusterfuck we all witnessed.

Events surrounding this day were rife with agent provocateurs, as it’s long been acknowledged that Antifa agents were in the crowd and provoking them to commit various acts of violence and vandalism. Since the tapes focusing on that day are now slowly being released, we are more privy to the truth of the matter. We now know that the doors, through which the majority of January 6th protestors passed, have electronic maglocks that could have only been opened by someone on the inside. And it’s also a curious thing to find that of the 658 windows in the Capitol Building, someone was given enough information to break out four of the twelve windows that had yet to be reinforced with bomb resistant glass. Gosh Folks — surely no one believes this was just pure dumb luck.

And then there’s Traitor Joe holding tight to the false narratives of January 6th being a “white supremacist fascist” attack against the “democracy” he holds so dear, the kind that disenfranchises millions of other Americans through criminal plots and illegal machinations, as he exudes such self-righteousness, even as he spews one massive lie after another, that one would almost think he really was elected president, when in fact there exists an overwhelming abundance of evidence that January 6th events in 2021 were a state-orchestrated sham.

So intent as they have been in their quest for complete and total power over all America’s resources and Her people. the Democratic Party Communists, Joe Biden and his millions of other radical supporters drove America in a hard lurch leftwards that She was never meant to go, if one properly understands America’s Founding. They saw the need to finish the fundamental transformation of America to be of such urgency during the past election cycle that they rallied, rioted, cheated and defiled the system, while holding up their immoral standards as the new morality for America, as if they were morally superior to all others not of their clan. And they used their urgency as justification for achieving their ends by any means necessary, while painting us — the conservatives, Christians and true American patriots, especially MAGA people — as fascists who don’t get to enforce their rights or object to the destruction of traditional America and the republic.

One could say that Ashli Babbitt was murdered by the new regime’s praetorian guard, but like so many details of that infamous day, her murder has faded into the memories of most Americans, along with everything else. Her murder exemplifies the broader problem. Unarmed and unthreatening, she was swept up in the ensuing chaos of January 6th and murdered by an incompetent police officer who had previously left his loaded service firearm in a Capitol bathroom and was not mentally stable enough to be carrying a firearm — who bragged about “saving lives” that day and received a promotion for the murder of this patriotic young lady. America is seeing the truth revealed in the politics of flesh and blood and Her image will long be overshadowed by Babbitt and Byrd as symbols of America in 2024, and on for years to come.

Oh but if only January 6th had truly been a real live insurrection, how different things would be right this moment, without America having to suffer Joe Biden’s treachery and idiocy.

The 2024 election promises to be a blazing hot battle for all the chips and all the treasures that make America such a sought-after prize for her enemies-from-within.

Maybe next time – we send them to hell!
