Your Dollars Are Safe, etc.
Don Stott
Most of us have insurance. Auto insurance, home owners, etc.
Accidents do happen, and one can never predict when some nutty, pimple faced,
testosterone soaked, teenage male, will attempt to test GM's differential
gears. Fires do happen, and if you have life insurance, you certainly
will eventually die eventually. Insurance companies are well endowed, and your
premiums are invested. They are private, and make a profit, which is the
way the capitalistic system works.
Then there is the Social Security
"insurance,' which is not insurance at all, but a giant Ponzi scheme. FDR
started it, and its rates have gone up, up, and up over the years, and it is
still bankrupt, just like everything else the federal government operates,
such as the postal system, National Parks, and now Obamacare, which promises
to be the ultimate disaster. I forgot! Your bank deposits are
'insured' by the FDIC, or "Federal Deposit Insurance Co," Good
insurance? Not at all, but still 'good' in a way. 'Good,' because
as long as there are trees to cut, paper to make, and printing presses to
print dollars, your dollars are safe, even though the FDIC has less than a
nickel on deposit for each $100 worth of "insurance" they claim to have.
The FDIC would make an actuary go nuts, because like Social Security,
the FDIC is
actuarially not only unsound, but a big joke. Still, if a bank fails,
and dozens each year do, your deposits will be paid by the FDIC, just the same
as any other Federal Government debt will be paid...with un-backed,
'monopoly' money,' known as dollars. But after all, the debts are backed
by "The Full Faith and Credit of the United States Government," which should put your mind at ease.
Yes, your dollars are safe. At least the numbers of
them are safe, but how about their value? When I was growing up in my
Dad's drug store, we sold cigarettes at 13 cents a pack, or two packs for a
quarter. I think they're close to $5 a pack now, aren't they?
Never used them, but I see signs. I remember when the 'quarter car
washes' came out, but they're $2.50 now, I think, and my 19 cent a gallon gas
as a kid is now $4. Prices gone up? Of course, but a better explanation
would be "dollars gone down." You can still get a gallon of gas for 20
cents. Two silver dimes that is, which is absolute proof that if you
save in silver or gold, you would not be victimized by government caused
inflation. However, do not save in silver dimes, because you'd have to be
pretty old to remember that we ever had silver dimes. Save in silver
that has a good hallmark (brand name) on it, as well as its contents in ounces, so they
can be easily converted into dollars, if needed. And if you never need
the dollars, leave them to your kids without an inheritance tax. I hope
the above makes you feel secure about your dollars...at least their numbers.
A U.S. Marine wrote the following letter, which I think is
great:
"Time is like a river. You cannot touch the water twice,
because the flow that has passed, and will never pass again. The
American Dream ended when Barack Obama was elected and re-elected. It
will prove to be the final nail in the coffin for the legacy of the white
Christian males, who discovered, explored, pioneered, settled, and developed
the greatest Republic in the history of mankind. A coalition of blacks,
Latinos, feminists, gays, government workers, union members, environmental
extremists, the media, Hollywood, uninformed youth, the 'forever needy,'
chronically unemployed, illegal aliens, and other 'fellow travelers,' have
ended Norman Rockwell's America. The Cocker Spaniel is off the porch.
The Pit Bull is in the backyard. The American Constitution has been
replaced with Saul Alinsky's "Rules For Radicals," and Chicago shyster David
Axelrod, along with Socialist George Soros, who will be pulling the strings on their beige puppet, to bring us Act 2 of the New World Order.
"Our side ran two candidates who couldn't even win their own
home states, and the circus fatso, Chris Christie, who helped Obama over the
top with a glowing "post Sandy" tribute, which elevated the 'Commander in
Chief' to Mother Teresa status. The way the polls were run, he didn't
need any help. People like me, are completely politically irrelevant,
and I will never again comment on, or concern myself with the aforementioned
coalition, which has surrendered our culture, our heritage, and our
traditions, without a shot being fired. You may never again outvote
these people. It will take individual acts of defiance and massive
displays of civil disobedience to get back the rights we have allowed them to
take away. It will take zealots, not moderates or coy 'reach across the
aisle' RINOS, to right the ship, and restore our beloved country to its former
status. Those who come after us, will have to risk their lives, their
fortunes, and their sacred honor, to bring back the Republic that this
generation has timidly frittered away, due to 'white guilt,' and political
correctness."
Now for a bit of history: During the 3 1/2 years of World War
II, which started when the Japs bombed Pearl Harbor, and ended in 1945,
America produced 22 aircraft carriers, 8 battleships, 48 cruisers, 349
destroyers, 203 submarines, 34 million tons of merchant ships (my uncle was
captain on one of them), 100,000 fighter planes, 98,000 bombers, 257,000
artillery pieces, 105,000 mortars, 3 million machine guns, and 2.5 million
military trucks. We put 16.1 million men in uniform, invaded Africa,
Sicily, and Italy. We won the battle for the Atlantic, planned and
executed D-Day, marched across the Pacific and Europe, developed the atomic
bomb, and conquered Japan and Germany. During the almost exact amount of
time, the Obama Administration couldn't build a working web site.
And finally, here's a letter from a 21 year old welfare
recipient in Waco Texas, who is being forced to use it temporarily. From
the Waco Tribune-Herald. Titled, "Put Me In Charge."
"Put me in charge of food stamps. I'd get rid of 'Lone
Star Cards.' No cash for Ding Dongs or Ho Ho's, just money for 50 pound
bags of rice and beans, blocks of cheese, and all the powdered milk you can
haul away. If you want steak and pizza, get a job. Put me in charge of
Medicaid. The first thing I'd do is get women on Norplant birth control
implants, or tubal ligations. Then we'll test for alcohol, drugs and
nicotine. If you want to reproduce, smoke, use drugs or alcohol, then
get a job. Put me in charge of government housing. Ever live in a
military barracks? You will maintain our property in a clean, good state
of repair. Your 'home' will be subject to inspections anytime, and
possessions will be inventoried. If you want a plasma TV or X-Box 360,
then get a job and your own home. In addition, you will present a check
stub from a job each week, or you will report to a government job. It
may be cleaning the roadways of trash, painting and repairing public housing,
or whatever we find for you. We will sell your 22inch rims, low profile
tires, and your blasting stereo, and put the money towards the common good.
Before you write that I have violated someone's rights, realize that all of
the above is voluntary. If you want our money, accept our rules.
And while you're taking our money, you can no longer vote. For you to vote,
would be a conflict of interest. If you want to vote, get a job."
The Bundy Ranch Dispute
The 1847 Guadalupe-Hidalgo Treaty ended the U.S.- Mexican
war. In that treaty, all the former Mexican land was given to the
states, not the federal government. The State of Nevada owns the land,
and Bundy is willing to pay the state for grazing privileges. To own
something, one must have a deed or title, be it a car, home, or land.
The BLM has no deed or title to the land it claims to own, and it's all so
simple! Besides that, the Bundy family has been using the land for over
140 years, without paying for its use. In real estate terms, they should
own it, not even the state of Nevada. Just because the BLM has illegally
run other ranchers off of state land, and the Bundy's have resisted, more
power to them. The problem with the Gudalupe-Hidalgo treaty's being
brought to life in 2014, is that it puts in question all of the land
miss-managed by the BLM in western states, for which they cannot produce a
title or deed.
